Compare your arrival port, early starts and dinner arrangements before choosing a hotel. An area name alone does not tell you how easy a stay will be.

01When to look around Miyanoura
Start here if you use Miyanoura Port or expect to spend much of your time on this side of the island. Check the actual walk to the port and bus stop: a Miyanoura address does not necessarily mean next to the terminal.
A shop or restaurant shown on a map is a useful lead, not confirmation that it will be open on your arrival night. Check the day and last dinner orders directly.
02When to look around Anbo
Compare Anbo accommodation if you use Anbo Port or plan journeys towards the Yakusugi Museum. For a long hiking day, check the guide meeting point, pickup area and actual onward connection.
An Anbo stay does not automatically include a hiking transfer, nor is every property an easy walk from the port. Check the route with luggage and wet-weather walking in mind.
03Airport-area and southern stays
Consider the airport area in relation to your flights, and southern stays when the property, a hot spring or nearby activities are part of the trip. These are selection criteria, not promises of frequent transport.
If a particular property is your priority, make the arrival, main-activity and departure journeys work first. Confirm reservations, hours and costs for any required transfer or taxi.
04Five questions before booking
Ask about the nearest stop and walking route
late arrival or transport disruption
dinner, breakfast and hiking lunch arrangements
transfer hours and coverage
and luggage before or after check-in
Use the official area maps and accommodation directory alongside the map and timetable below. This guide does not confirm individual room availability, prices, luggage storage or shuttle services.
