01Separate light rain from disruption
Light rain is different from a warning, rising water or a road closure. Earlier rainfall can still affect a route after the sky clears; rain stopping does not establish that access is safe.
For hikes, river trips and sea activities, check the relevant manager or operator. This page explains how to change plans; it does not decide whether an outdoor activity is safe that day.
02Choose an indoor option you can reach
The tourism association lists activities such as cedar crafts, leather work, scent workshops and coffee experiences. Confirm booking, duration, age limits, available languages and the journey in both directions.
Its rainy-day directory also contains sea activities. Inclusion does not mean an activity operates in rough weather: sea conditions and the operator’s decision still govern.
03Plan food and the return journey for a local day
Combine food, supplies or an indoor venue near your accommodation, keeping exposed walks short. Check opening days and your way back. Reaching an indoor activity can still involve outdoor walking or waiting for a bus.
Protect bags and phones from water, and keep dry clothing available. Save maps and booking details before heading into areas with weak reception.
04If a boat or flight is cancelled
Check your own service and change procedure with the operator, then contact your accommodation. Another mode may also be disrupted; confirm operation, connection time and cancellation terms before buying a replacement.
Contact each provider about activity changes, extra accommodation and luggage. Reading the terms before booking makes later decisions easier.
